The family photo shows the Monarch with her husband, Prince Philip - who died aged 99 on 9 April - surrounded by seven great-grandchildren.

The Duchess of Cambridge snapped the image on her camera in 2018, when the family were at the Queen’s private Scottish home of Balmoral

The image shows the Queen holding Prince Louis, with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s two other children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, on either side of the Queen, with the Duke of Edinburgh sat next to Princess Charlotte.

Peter Phillips’ daughters, Savannah and Isla, are also in the photo, alongside Zara and Mike Tindall’s children Lena and Mia.

The picture shows a snapshot of a typical day at Balmoral, where the Queen typically entertains family, friends and politicians during the summer months.

This photo comes as other members of the royal family are continuing to share images and tributes to the Duke of Edinburgh.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also shared an image on their official Twitter account, which was taken at Balmoral in 2015 and shows the couple with their children, George and Charlotte, alongside the Queen and Prince Philip.

Princess Eugenie posted a touching tribute to her grandfather on Instagram, writing: “We all miss you. ⁣You would be so touched by all the tributes that have been shared with me the past few days.”⁣⁣The Princess went on to say, “I remember learning how to cook, how to paint, what to read. I remember laughing at your jokes and asking about your spectacular life and service in the navy. ⁣I remember incinerating the sausages and you swooping in to save the day.⁣ I remember your hands and your laugh and your favourite beer.”⁣⁣The post ended with the words: “Thank you for your dedication and love for us all and especially Granny, who we will look after for you.”⁣
