Tennis club in Dacorum applies to build more padel courts
Leverstock Green Tennis Club has applied for permission to build two “high quality” padel courts.
The club has applied to Dacorum Borough Council for permission to create the canopy-covered courts, which would be operated by Zing Padel.

The new courts would add to the two that have already been installed at the club after planning permission was granted last year.
Documents submitted on behalf of the tennis club say that the existing padel courts have been in “high demand” and are “consistently booked out”.
Padel is a fast-growing racquet sport played on an enclosed court, combining elements of tennis and squash.
The tennis club said in its application that the courts would deliver “modern, accessible and much needed sporting provision for the club members and the wider community” while making “a valuable contribution to the health and wellbeing of residents across the area”.
It added: “Zing Padel is a new and emerging operator in the UK padel sector, focused on creating high-quality, inclusive leisure venues.
“The proposed Zing Padel site is intended to operate alongside the wider Leverstock Green Tennis Club and existing padel offer.”
The courts would be open between 7am and 10pm every day, and would be built on grassland immediately next to existing courts.
