Details have been announced for this year’s Remembrance parade through Hemel Hempstead on Sunday November 8.

The annual parade, which is being organised by the Hemel Hempstead branch of the Royal British Legion, alongside Dacorum Borough Council, begins in the town centre at 10.30am.

It then processes to the War Memorial at St John’s Church in Boxmoor where an outdoor service will be held.

Any ex-service personnel wishing to join the parade are invited to meet at the Rainbow Stage in the Marlowes from 10.15am to take part.

Residents and visitors are invited to gather at the Boxmoor War Memorial at 10.40am to join the Remembrance service.

Dacorum Borough Council has advised that some roads close to the town centre will be closed between 10am and midday on November 8 to allow the Remembrance parade and service to take place.

Roads affected include Plough Roundabout, Leighton Buzzard Road, Moor End Road, Waterhouse Street, Station Road, St John’s Road, Park Road, Heath Lane, Cotterells and Vicarage Close.

Dacorum Borough Council has apologised for any inconvenience the closures may cause and added in a statement: “The parade and service provide an opportunity for the community to come together to remember and honour those who have lost their lives in service to the nation.”
