Berkhamsted mum smashes 6,000-pair charity target and aims for 10,000 by Christmas

I'm Katie, the founder of The Little Sock Company, a small, independent children's brand based in Berkhamsted.

I started the business back in 2018 after having my first baby and have grown it independently, without any outside investment.

This Christmas, we're hoping to make a real difference to families who need a little extra support, so we've launched a campaign called No More Cold Toes.

For every order placed with us, we're donating a pair of socks to a baby or child in need. We originally set ourselves a target of donating 6,000 pairs by Christmas, but we've already exceeded that, so we've now raised our target to 10,000 pairs!

We've chosen to work with three wonderful organisations - Little Village, Baby Bank Alliance and Baby Basics UK - because we wanted our campaign to reach as far as possible. By partnering with charities that support families in different parts of the country, we're hoping to make sure our donations reach babies and children in need in every corner of the UK.

As a mum of three, it's heartbreaking to think of little ones going without something as basic as warm socks, particularly during the colder months. It felt like something we could genuinely help with, using the business I've spent the last eight years building.

I wondered whether this might be a story you'd be interested in sharing with Hemel Today readers? As a local, independently run business, it would mean a great deal to us to share what we're doing with the community and hopefully encourage even more people to get behind the campaign.
