Stop and search and illegal use of e-scooters among topics as public meet with police in Dacorum

Stop and search and the illegal use of e-scooters were among the topics as members of the public met with police in Dacorum.

At the first meeting of Dacorum’s Community Safety and Engagement Board (CSEB), members of the public met with police and community advisors to ask questions on topics that they considered important to them.

Among the issues covered were stop and search, Violence Against Women and Girls, cuckooing, burglary and the illegal use of e-scooters.

The meeting, which was hosted by Dacorum’s neighbourhood policing team, also enabled attendees to gain a clearer understanding of legislation, policing responsibilities and decision-making processes.

Dacorum neighbourhood inspector Neil Canning said: “CSEBs play an important role in fostering positive relationships between police and the communities they serve, offering an opportunity for meaningful discussion, challenge, and collaboration to improve community safety across Dacorum.

“Our first meeting saw a number of concerns being raised and we are already working to provide reassurance and address these.”

The CSEBs, which were launched earlier this year as part of Neighbourhood Policing Week, operate in all ten districts and boroughs across the county, and are designed to give residents a structured voice within local policing.
