Taylor Wimpey gives a boost to Hemel charity’s cabin project
Sunnyside Rural Trust, a charity which offers training and work experience to vulnerable people in Dacorum, has received a £500 donation from Taylor Wimpey North Thames.

The charity has four sites across Dacorum, which work to provide people with learning difficulties with training in various rural activities, including beekeeping, caring for chickens, gardening and landscaping. Any local produce grown by the charity is then sold in its farm shop and market stalls.
Each site has a tranquility area where trainees, volunteers and employees can relax and socialise. Taylor Wimpey’s donation has been put towards a project to rebuild a cabin in the tranquility area of the charity’s Hemel Food Garden in Hemel Hempstead, which is just around the corner from the housebuilder’s Chaulden Meadows development.

The housebuilder also donated 50 boxes of seed houses containing wildflower seeds for trainees to plant at the Hemel Hempstead site.
Emma Power, Chief Operating Officer at Sunnyside Rural Trust, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Taylor Wimpey for their support of Sunnyside Rural Trust. Community donations like this make a real difference, enabling us to go that extra step in enhancing the experiences we offer to the people we support.”
Jason Turner, Sales Manager at Taylor Wimpey North Thames, said: “Our support of Sunnyside Rural Trust is an important part of our commitment to giving back to the communities in which we build.
This local charity not only provides Dacorum residents with a vital service by offering work experience, training and confidence-building to people with learning difficulties, but also sells local, homegrown produce to the community.
“We hope that our donation gives Sunnyside Rural Trust a boost in raising the funds needed to rebuild their tranquility area’s cabin so that it can be used for some well-earned indoor relaxation, socialising and taking part in activities after working hard outdoors.”
