I used to share stages with Robin Williams. Now I share locks with ducks

I’ve lived on my narrowboat for 18 years now, prior to which I was a comic touring the US with the plan of being the first Brit to gig in all 50 states (I managed 40). I performed everywhere from bars across the Deep South to the casinos of Las Vegas and worked with many of my comedy heroes, including Robin Williams.

In 2008, When I moved onto the UK’s waterways, I started to develop Angry Boater, often arranging last minute 'pop up' shows at venues on the towpath close to wherever I happened to be moored. This will be the first time I've done the show back in my hometown.

Over the past couple of years, I was fortunate to be featured on Seasons 1 & 2 of Channel 4’s Narrow Escapes, which brought more attention to my story and the show. In season 1, I was documented travelling on my boat travelling between 2 shows in London and Coventry. In the finale of the 2nd season, I took my canal boat onto the sea at 3 am.

Aged  58, two hours of Channel 4 airtime was the last thing I expected and I'm doing my best to honour the opportunity by bringing my show to as many places as possible.

Expect 2 hours of comedy and stories about the joys, perils and madness that come along when you swap the comforts of suburbia for a life on the UK's waterways. As a former Watford and Apsley resident, I'll also be including a few local stories tonight that I rarely get to share anywhere else.

Tickets for Angry Boater at The Pump House on Local Board Road, Watford on Wed, April 22nd are £15 and are available at: http://www.angryboater.com
