The XC launches second escape room adventure with underground crystal heist

Visitors to The XC in Hemel Hempstead are able to put their teamwork and puzzle-solving skills to the test in a brand-new escape room experience, as the centre launches its second immersive adventure, Hunt for the Aurora Cluster.

Designed for teams of two to six players, the new experience transports participants deep beneath the surface to the Absolutely Mining Corporation’s Site 7. The abandoned mining facility hides a remarkable secret: the Aurora Cluster, a rare colour-changing crystal of immense value.

Players are recruited as part of a criminal operation tasked with infiltrating the mine, uncovering its hidden secrets and stealing the crystal before time runs out. Along the way, teams must search for clues, crack codes and solve a series of puzzles to unlock restricted areas of the facility.

With just 60 minutes on the clock, success will depend on communication, teamwork and quick thinking as players race to complete the underground heist.

The launch follows the success of Moriarty’s Masterplan, the first escape room story introduced at The XC last year, and expands the centre’s growing range of visitor experiences.

Mat Read from The XC commented: “Following the positive response to Moriarty’s Masterplan, we're excited to introduce Hunt for the Aurora Cluster as our second escape room adventure. This new story offers a completely different challenge, with players stepping into the role of professional thieves on a high-stakes mission beneath the earth's surface.

“We've created an immersive experience packed with puzzles, hidden clues and unexpected discoveries that encourages teams to work together under pressure. Whether you're visiting with friends, family or colleagues, it's a challenge that will keep everyone engaged from start to finish.”
