David Taylor MP welcomes opening of Dacorum’s new Youth Hub as local young people begin to benefit from Labour’s employment support
David Taylor MP has welcomed the opening of a new Youth Hub in Dacorum, providing young people across Hemel Hempstead and the surrounding villages with access to careers advice, mental health support, housing guidance and employment services in one place.

The hub, located at the South Hill Centre, has been supported through Government funding as part of efforts to improve opportunities for young people and tackle youth unemployment.
Nearly 30% of Hemel Hempstead’s population is aged under 24, and the new hub will help ensure young people can access the advice and services they need to take their next step and thrive.

David Taylor MP said: “It was great to attend the opening of Dacorum’s new Youth Hub and see the support available to young people in Hemel Hempstead and across our borough.
“Young people should not have to navigate a confusing range of services on their own. This hub brings together careers advice, employment support, mental health services and housing guidance in one accessible place.
“Early results are encouraging, with around 80% of young people supported so far progressing towards employment, education or training.
“I’m particularly pleased that young people in our area are already benefiting from Labour’s commitment to tackling youth unemployment, including through the Jobs Guarantee, which provides eligible young people with paid six-month work placements and tailored support.
“I will continue working to ensure young people across Hemel Hempstead and our villages have the opportunities, support and confidence they need to get on in life."
