West Herts Junior Cup – Semi Finals

The top two teams in Division 1 fought out a real end to end dog fight! Chesham United Generals hosted Croxley Community Reserves and started confidently. The Generals took a 3-0 lead into the last 20 minutes against the Division 1 Champions Croxley, thanks to goals from Nico Rasura, Toby Lyons & Sam Ivory. However, Croxley found some late fire in their belly, as they scored 3 goals, including an injury-time equaliser, to take the game into extra time. Chesham then fought back with two goals from Ewan Philpot in the first half of extra-time, to gain the advantage once more but a brilliant free-kick bought Croxley back into the game. Chesham worked hard in a nail biting finish to hold Croxley at bay, eventually winning 5-4, to put themselves through to their first ever final. Jake Woolcott, Joe Perrin, Robbie Martin and Harry Brock were the scorers for Croxley.

There was another big scoring game in the other Semi Final. Sun Sports Rovers played up the slope against Hemel Hempstead Rovers 'A' and generally bossed the first half. They scored mid way through, to lead 1-0 at the break and looked like they could go on to win. However, Hemel came out fighting and won all the important challenges, soon equalising and then taking the lead. Sun were struggling to find their first half sharpness but somehow, with a long range shot, equalised. Rovers still kept up the pressure and scored twice more, before both teams managed a goal apiece for Rovers to progress to the Final after a 5-3 win. Scorers for Rovers were Ellis North with a hat-trick, Paulo Ditri and manager, Kenny Harrington. Jake Makamian (2) and Glen Cook replied for Sun.
