The show was scheduled to air on Thursday evening at 8.30pm, but was instead replaced by Griff’s Great Australian Adventure.

Why was the show not aired?

The number of people diagnosed with Coronavirus continues to rise, with more than 100 confirmed cases in the UK at the time of publishing.

A representative for ITV confirmed the news to Metro.co.uk, explaining how the programme has been taken off air during the current outbreak.

They said, “To reflect the latest situation on travelling abroad at this time, this series has been postponed for now and will be screened later in the year.’

Other TV shows and films delayed

It’s not just ITV that has taken the decision to change television scheduling as a result of the current global health situation, with the BBC recently airing an emergency coronavirus special instead of showing their regular Inside Out programme.

The debut of the latest in the James Bond movie movie franchise, No Time to Die, has also been delayed, after fans contacted producers via an open letter stating their concerns over potentially contracting coronavirus whilst in the cinema.

The outbreak of the coronavirus in China had already prompted the studios to move the release of the film in Hong Kong to 30 April, alongside cancelling the film's publicity tours in China, Japan and South Korea.

The world premiere for No Time to Die was set to take place on 31 March, at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

The showrunners for the movie then issued a statement, telling fans that they had decided to delay the release of the highly anticipated film from 2 April to 12 November 2020.

The statement read, “MGM, Universal and Bond producers, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, announced today that after careful consideration and thorough evaluation of the global theatrical marketplace, the release of NO TIME TO DIE will be postponed until November 2020.

“The film will be released in the UK on November 12, 2020 with worldwide release dates to follow, including the US launch on November 25, 2020.”

ITV has been contacted for comment.
