TV spotlight for twins as midwife drama begins

MUM Gemma Saad has already set her television to record the six-part BBC series Call The Midwife – because her twin daughters Layla and Lilia will be appearing in it.

The 10-month-old youngsters from Fourdrinier Way in Hemel Hempstead were among scores of babies and toddlers cast in the series about the life and experiences of a young midwife in London’s East End during the 1950s.

Gemma said; “Twins are always in demand so I signed them up to an agency and they got the job.“

The drama is an adaptation of the best-selling memoirs of the late Jennifer Worth, who lived in St John’s Road in Boxmoor.

Don’t miss the special feature about the series in next week’s Gazette and watch the first episode of Call the Midwife this Sunday on BBC One at 8pm.
