Road closures and new planning applications announced across Hemel Hempstead and Dacorum
Drivers face temporary restrictions across Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted and Tring as new planning proposals are submitted to the borough council.
Motorists and residents across Hemel Hempstead and surrounding towns are being warned of a series of temporary road closures, while new planning applications have been submitted to Dacorum Borough Council.
Hertfordshire County Council has announced restrictions affecting roads in Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted, Tring and nearby villages, with works scheduled to begin from late October and early November.
Meanwhile, planning applications include a proposed new home on Berkhamsted High Street, alterations to a historic Tring building and an extension at Pouchen End Hall.

Road closures across Hemel Hempstead
Leverstock Green Road is due to close to all vehicles along an approximately 80-metre stretch from its junction with the A414 St Albans Road from November 2.
The closure is needed for gas main works, expected to take four weeks. A diversion will run via the A414 St Albans Road, A4147 Maylands Avenue and Swallowdale Lane, and Leverstock Green Road.
Sugar Lane in Berkhamsted will also be closed to through traffic from November 2 for works expected to last five days. Access will be maintained wherever possible, but there will be no alternative route available.
Other planned restrictions include Highland Drive in Hemel Hempstead, Cobbetts Ride in Tring and Park Rise in Berkhamsted. These works are scheduled to take three days, with restrictions taking effect only when indicated by signs.
Several further roads are affected by planned works, including Mayflower Avenue, Newell Road, Wellen Rise and Raybarn Road in Hemel Hempstead, as well as Nathaniel Walk in Tring and Station Road in Aldbury.
The restrictions are scheduled to start between October 30 and November 3, depending on the location and work involved.
Closures affecting villages and footpaths
Elsewhere, Wigginton Public Footpath No.009 is due to close to pedestrians from November 3 for three days. The affected section runs for approximately 97 metres between Wick Road and Chesham Road. No alternative route is available, although access will be maintained wherever possible.
Windmill Hill and The Common in Chipperfield will face a temporary closure from November 3 for tree-trimming work expected to last two days.
Middle Lane in Bovingdon is also due to close for one day from November 3 for utility works.
Separate restrictions already announced include closures affecting Cowper Road and Cowper Rise in Markyate, Church Street in Bovingdon, and several roads in Berkhamsted, Potten End, Flamstead, Wigginton, Great Gaddesden and Ringshall.
The works will take effect on the days and at the times indicated by signs on or near the affected roads. Some closures will include restrictions on parking.
