Held at The Grove in Hertfordshire last week, the sold-out Playskill Golf Day welcomed almost 90 golfers alongside sponsors, supporters, volunteers and special guests, making it the charity’s biggest and most successful golf day to date.

Participants enjoyed a full day on the sun-drenched course, with all proceeds helping Hemel Hempstead based charity, Playskill, continue its specialist support for children with physical disabilities across Hertfordshire.

A very special Beat the Pro competition saw golf professional, Chris Foster, challenging players on the course. As the first amputee PGA professional, Chris perfectly embodies our ethos - inspiring people with disabilities to know no boundaries.

Playskill Patron and Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, Robert Voss CBE, played alongside regular team-mates, Harry Redknapp and Luther Blissett, who joined more than 20 teams on the day.

The event’s success will help to fund Playskill’s specialist play‑based therapy sessions, support at home, training and family events all of which develop vital movement, communication and life skills in children, while building resilience and confidence within families.

Niki Michael, Playskill’s Chief Executive, said: "We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported this year’s Golf Day. To raise more than £25,000 is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the generosity of our sponsors, players and prize donors. These funds will make a real difference, helping us continue to provide life-changing support for local children with physical disabilities and the families who rely on our services."

The charity is immensely grateful to headline sponsor, Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden as well as the many businesses and individuals whose generous sponsorship, prize donations and fundraising support helped make the event such a success.

With record participation and fundraising totals, the Playskill Golf Day will return to The Grove on 13 October 2027. To register your interest in the event, or to find out more about Playskill’s vital service in the local area, visit playskil.org
