Estarli launches new e-bike fleet packages to help Hertfordshire businesses and councils cut short car journeys
Berkhamsted-based e-bike brand Estarli is calling on local businesses, councils and community organisations to rethink short-distance transport with new flexible fleet packages designed to reduce congestion, parking pressure, fuel costs and everyday car use.

Hertfordshire e-bike company Estarli has launched a new fleet offering aimed at helping local organisations replace unnecessary short car and van journeys with practical, locally supported e-bike fleets.
The new packages are designed for businesses, councils, hotels, campuses, estates, schools, tour operators and community organisations looking for more sustainable, cost-effective and practical ways to move people, equipment and everyday loads.

The launch comes at a time when high petrol and diesel costs continue to put pressure on businesses, councils and local teams that rely on cars and vans for frequent short journeys. Estarli says many of those journeys — from site visits and staff travel to community work, errands and light cargo runs — could be made more efficiently by e-bike.
From its factory in Berkhamsted, Estarli is offering a range of fleet options across its folding, hybrid and cargo e-bike models. These include outright fleet purchases, fleet purchase with scheduled servicing, and fully managed fleet packages with ongoing support and lifecycle planning.
The offer has been developed to support organisations that want to reduce their environmental footprint, ease parking pressures, improve staff mobility and take realistic first steps into active travel. For organisations looking to avoid upfront capital expenditure, Estarli’s fully managed fleet option also allows businesses and councils to pay monthly, with servicing, support and lifecycle planning built in to keep fleets consistently operational.
Estarli says the need is particularly visible in Hertfordshire’s towns and villages, where historic road layouts, limited parking and growing traffic often make short car journeys inefficient, expensive and polluting.

Victoria Collins MP, Member of Parliament for Harpenden and Berkhamsted and Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Science, Innovation and Technology, said:
“Estarli is exactly the kind of innovative local business we should be championing here in Hertfordshire. Having visited the team in Berkhamsted, I have seen first-hand how their e-bikes bring together local manufacturing, clean transport and practical technology in a way that can make a real difference to people’s everyday journeys.
“Across Harpenden, Berkhamsted, Tring and our surrounding villages, residents and businesses know how much pressure there is on our roads, parking and local infrastructure. If we are serious about cutting congestion, improving air quality and giving people more choice in how they get around, then easy-to-use active travel has to be part of the solution.
“These new fleet packages have real potential for councils, community organisations and businesses looking to reduce short car journeys and support cleaner, healthier local travel. It is fantastic to see a Hertfordshire business leading the way with products that are practical, technology-led and designed around the needs of local communities.”
Oli Francis, co-founder of Estarli, said:
“This is a very local story for us. We live here, we grew up here, we work here, and we see the same transport problems every day. In places like Berkhamsted and across Hertfordshire, you have old market towns trying to cope with modern traffic, limited parking and roads that simply weren’t designed for the volume of short car journeys we now make.
“At the same time, petrol and diesel costs are putting even more pressure on businesses, councils and local organisations that rely on cars and vans for everyday short-distance work. Our aim with Estarli fleets is to give them a realistic, supported way to start changing that.
“Not every journey needs a car or a van. For many local trips — visiting sites, moving between meetings, carrying equipment, doing school or community work — an e-bike can be faster, cleaner, cheaper and easier.
“Because we are based locally, we can offer more than just the bikes. We can help organisations choose the right fleet, support them with servicing, customise the setup around their use case and keep the bikes running properly. We want to be a central part of the local active travel community, and this is another considered step towards that.”
The fleet range includes compact folding e-bikes for mixed transport journeys, such as train travel, office use or storage in car boots; hybrid e-bikes for longer commuting and everyday business travel; and cargo e-bikes for carrying tools, supplies, litter-picking equipment, deliveries, family passengers or community resources.
One local example is London Colney Parish Council, which acquired an Estarli e-cargo bike through grant funding to reduce reliance on vans and cars for local council tasks.
The council has used the bike for litter picks, recycling collections, tree planting, community visits, school engagement and local environmental projects. Its use has demonstrated how an e-cargo bike can support practical council work while also acting as a visible example of active travel in the community.
In a recent Estarli video, London Colney Parish Council environment officer and local councillor Matt Fisher described the bike as a way to reduce the council’s carbon footprint while showing active travel “hands-on” within the community.
He said the e-cargo bike had proved particularly useful for short local journeys, avoiding parking problems and making council tasks more efficient.
“Doing this in the back of a car or a van is just ridiculous,” he said. “The little errands of running into town or doing something as a councillor has been super efficient. I don’t have to find a parking space. I literally just pull up outside someone’s door.”
Estarli’s fleet launch also builds on its experience supplying commercial fleet customers, including the London Bicycle Tour Company, which has invested in over 20 Estarli e-bikes for its guided tours and hire operation.
The company selected Estarli bikes for their belt-drive systems, reliability and local production — qualities that Estarli says are particularly important for commercial operators looking for dependable, low-maintenance fleets with accessible UK-based support.
The new fleet packages can be tailored to each organisation’s needs, including model selection, frame types, finishing kit, tyres, handlebars, range options, branding, servicing requirements and optional Estarli Cycle Security for tracking and recovery.
Estarli is now inviting Hertfordshire businesses, councils, schools, estates and community organisations to discuss how e-bike fleets could support their local transport needs.
