Wolves supporter Ollie Floyd, just 16 and from Hemel Hempstead, wanted to help Nic Cruwys in the hope he recovers from a brutal gang attack, so set up an online fund which has skyrocketed.

Ollie, who attends Berkhamsted School, has since met members of Mr Cruwys’ family and spoke at Watford FC’s weekend match to further promote the cause. On his page, Ollie said: “I’ve seen comments that have almost brought a tear to my eye, so I can’t help but think it’s been a huge help for Nic’s family at this immensely difficult time.”
