Tudors boss expects bids for impressive attacking duo Parkes and Hawkins

Hemel Hempstead Town boss Dean Brennan admits it may be tough for the club to keep hold of some of their star players if big spenders come knocking at the end of the season.

Hemel have enjoyed a highly promising debut season in the Conference South, and Brennan says this has attracted the attention of other clubs.

“We’re not big spenders and we don’t pay big wages, so teams will take players off you in this league,” he said.

“Players like Jordan Parkes and Oliver Hawkins; they’re going to be priceless.

“Parkesy’s got 20 league goals so he’s going to be on other teams’ radars – that’s just how football works; if you have success teams are going to come in for you.

“I know there is a lot of interest so I expect some bids to be coming in for the players soon, but we need to build.”

He added: “We will look to create a new team and a new squad, and that’s what we will do for next season.”
