Hemel go into the game on the back of a morale-boosting 2-0 draw against Sutton United last time out, while struggling Bath have picked up recently with two draws and a win in their last three league outings.

Looking ahead to the game, Brennan said: “We are hoping we can build on the momentum of the draw against Sutton when we face Bath on Saturday.

“Bath are hard working side and a team that we haven’t beaten since I’ve been manager. They beat us twice last year and we drew earlier this season, so we know it will be a tough game.

“The new manager has come in and got them well-drilled and well-organised. They are very good from restarts and we will have to out-work them; that’s what we are going to have to do if we are going to take the three points.

“We’ve got to run all over them and make sure that we cut out the individual errors and make sure our decision making is good defensively.

“You’ve got to be on your game at this level and you can’t just expect to turn up and win. Bath’s form has picked up recently and they are on a good unbeaten run.

“They should be favourites for the game because we have never beaten them – hopefully it will be fourth time lucky for us.

“As I say, it will be a very tough game, but we are relishing it and really looking forward to it.”

Hemel looked set to push for the playoff-places following a good run over Christmas and New Year, but have since lost three and drawn three of their last six league fixtures.

Now Brennan says that his side must focus on staying up before looking towards reaching the top-five.

“We’ve got to get 50 points which will keep us in the division and stabilise us at this level which is important, first and foremost,” he said. “Anything after that will be a bonus this year.”

Hemel will be without Kyle Connolly, Matt Spring, Mat Mitchel-King, and Asafu-Adjaye on Saturday, but Adam Bailey-Dennis may be back in contention following a couple of weeks on the sidelines.
