Hide AdOn the back of both teams’ cup triumphs last time out, they returned to league action as Hemel proved far too good for a somewhat lacklustre Farnborough.
However, the Tudors did make life hard for themselves in the first half as wayward finishing and heroic keeping combined to keep Farnborough in the game.
The best chance of the half went to the Tudors as Dennis Oli latched on to a long ball and raced through on goal but was thwarted by the feet of Boro’s Slovakian keeper Marek Rodak.

Soon afterwards, Hemel were awarded a free-kick just outside the box but skipper Jordan Parkes’ curling effort was magnificently turned away by the Farnborough stopper.
The Tudors’ pressure continued in the second half and a long ball forward left the Farnborough defence exposed – allowing Newman to take full advantage and slot home to double the advantage.

Hide AdPotton then grabbed his second goal of the day as some trickery on the edge of the box gave him room to shoot and he coolly placed it into the bottom corner.
Minutes later, substitute Banton added to Farnborough’s woes as he cut inside and made it four.
Tudors keeper Laurie Walker became a victim of the pitch when Louie Theophanous’ low drive bobbled over his outstretched arm to give the visitors a consolation goal on 85 minutes – but it was far too little too late to worry the Hemel faithful.
