Berkhamsted were made to work hard for a 3-2 victory as they avenged their early season defeat by Dacorum rivals Leverstock Green.

Levy made the perfect start, with Ollie Buckley netting when he nipped in ahead of Berko keeper Carl Tasker from Curtis Donaldson cross.

However, Jordon Frederick equalised against his old club 10 minutes later when he drove a shot from the left of the area past Liam Jahn.

Soon afterwards, Dan Weeks came forward and tested Jahn, before Joe Horwood did well to head off his own goal-line as Berko pressed.

In the end, it was left to Berko’s top scorer Bradley O’Donovan to settle the outcome with a goal in each half.

Around the half hour mark, he netted with a shot on the turn after Alex Campana had jinked his way into the box and delivered a good cross.

Five minutes into the second half, O’Donovan converted at the Canal End from a corner taken by Tom Carter.

Donaldson pulled a goal back to make it an interesting last half hour of the game, despite Tasker getting a hand to the ball.

Highlights for Berko included a forward foray by Dan Edwards that ended with his shot striking the foot of the far post, while Dale Sears headed the wrong side of the upright as he climbed to reach a header at the back stick.

For Green there were plenty of mazy runs but they did not finish their chances.

Ashley Addison came on and was behind several of their best moves, while Berko made a double sub and – after their FA Vase exertions on Saturday – the fresh legs helped them to hold out for the win.
