Excellent winter season for Tring Tennis Club

Tring Mixed First Team finished top of the Aylesbury and District Tennis Winter Floodlit League Division One this year, finishing four points clear.

They played 12 matches between October and April, losing just one which was away to Halton having narrowly beating them at home earlier in the season.

Players that contributed to this fantastic achievement were Irene Fourie, Monique Bos, Sheena Cogger (capt), June Mordey, Gemma Poll, Phil Davies, Nick Tingey and Max Baiden.

Sheena said: “We have finished second and third in previous years so to finish top is great for a club such as Tring. We are lucky tohave Nick, Max and more recently Gemma, return to play for us having finished at university.”

The Mixed 2 team finished second in Division Two and will be joining the first team in Division One next season.

The Ladies 1 finished top of Division Two, gaining promotion to Division One, and Ladies 2 finished second in their division and are going up to Division Five.

The Mens 1 finished second in Division One just one point behind the leaders, Mens 2 finished second and will be going up to Division Two and Mens 3 won their division and will be in Division Six next winter.

So all in all it was a good winter season for Tring Tennis Club!
