Hemel Hempstead Leisure Centre, run by leading operator Everyone Active in partnership with Dacorum Borough Council, scored highly in many areas within the mystery visit and formal assessment elements.

Standout areas for the popular centre included team management, lifeguarding, sales and retention and the site plans for future improvements.

The centre’s recent adaptions to take steps towards being safer and more sustainable were also commended, such as the use of inbuilt motion sensors in light units and the use of a Combined Heat and Power unit (CHP) to generate electricity on site, in addition to the installation extra external lighting on walkways to help customers feel safe whilst exercising in the winter months.

Steve Cox, Everyone Active’s area contract manager, said: “We are delighted with the outcome of the Quest assessment and believe it is a testament to the hard work of centre colleagues. To be recognised for not only operational excellence but the positive impact our centre has makes us really proud.
