A group of dads and football stars rolled back the years to raise cash for charity.

Dadsonthepitch - and their sons in many cases - took part in five matches last month to raise more than £8,500 for charity. But they got help from some well-known faces.

The highlight was a game at Berkhamsted FC featuring Liverpool’s two-time European cup winner Alan Kennedy and Watford FC legends Luther Blissett and Tommy Mooney making appearances.

This game featured youngsters currently plying their trade in the Spartan South Midlands league for Leverstock Green, Berkhamsted Comrades and Sarratt playing alongside many dads in their 40s, 50s and 60s.

Many of the youngsters involved have played youth football at Hemel, Berko and Levy Green as well, including Berko man of the match Charlie Payne who followed his dad Nick, a popular and familiar face around Hemel and Hemel Youth, in playing for the dads' team.

The money raised during the five games went to four causes - High Five for Ollie, Isla‘s fight, Dreamflight and Action for Kids.
