EVENING UPDATE: Dacorum records over 80 new coronavirus cases
Dacorum and Hertfordshire have now entered Tier 4
As of last night (December 20), Dacorum had 85 new positive Covid-19 tests.
The total for the borough is now 2,866, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.
The incidence rate over the last 7 days is 245.5 per 100,000 population (the period represented is the 7 days ending 5 days before December 15).
The number of coronavirus cases in Hertfordshire has risen by 961, and now stands at 25,786.
On Saturday, following talks with cabinet ministers, Boris Johnson announced that from yesterday (Sunday) areas in the South East of England which are currently in Tier 3 will be moved into a new Tier 4. Read full story hereThere have been no new deaths recorded in Dacorum, the total is 118, and there have been 1,062 deaths in total in Hertfordshire, according to Public Health England.
Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 35,928 and now stands at 2,040,147.
The latest R number is estimated at 1.1 to 1.2 with a daily infection growth rate range of +1% to +4% as of December 18.
The number of deaths has risen by 326 to 67,401.
The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.
The new figures were recorded between 5pm on Friday, December 18, and 5pm on Saturday, December 19.
