Coronavirus latest: Dacorum records over 20 new confirmed cases today

There have been 26 new positive Covid-19 tests in Dacorum over the last 24 hours.

The total for the borough is now 1,880, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There have been 226 new cases today in Hertfordshire, the total is now 16,560.

The government will announce which areas are in which tier tomorrow (26 November). The new rules will come into effect from the beginning of Wednesday, December 2.

The address given at the point of testing will now be used to determine a person's area of residence, rather than that on their electronic NHS record, with the change retrospectively applied to tests carried out from September 1.

There has been no new recorded deaths in Dacorum, the total is 108. There have been two new deaths in Hertfordshire, the total is now 962, according to Public Health England.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 18,213 and now stands at 1,557,007.

The latest R number is estimated at 1 to 1.1 with a daily infection growth rate range of 0% to +2% as of November 20.

The number of deaths has risen by 696 to 56,533.

The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.

The new figures were recorded between 5pm on Monday, November 23, and 5pm on Tuesday, November 24.
