Coronavirus latest: Dacorum records 70 new cases today

Dacorum has recorded 70 new positive Covid-19 cases today (January 29).

The total for the borough is now 7,373, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

The incidence rate over the last 7 days has gone down from 327 per 100,000 population to 318.6 per 100,000 (the period represented is the 7 days ending January 24).

On January 22, the incidence rate was 451 per 100,000 population (the 7 days ending January 17).

Here's a daily breakdown of the figures for the last seven days:

> January 22 - 126 cases

> January 23 - 62 cases

> January 24 - 82 cases

> January 25 - 47 cases

> January 26 - 35 cases

> January 27 - 48 cases

> January 28 - 98 cases.

There have been 570 new cases in Hertfordshire, the total is now 67,603.

According to Public Health England there were 267 confirmed COVID-19 patients in West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust - which manages hospitals in Watford, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans - on Tuesday, January 26, and 19 were on mechanical ventilation beds.

Due to an issue with the processing of deaths data, the update for 29 January 2021 does not include any updates to deaths figures.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 29,079 and now stands at 3,772,813.

As of January 28, in the UK, 7,891,184 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 478,254 had received their second dose.

The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.

The new figures were recorded between 5pm on Wednesday, January 27, and 5pm on Thursday, January 28.
