Coronavirus latest: Dacorum records 50 new cases today

Dacorum has recorded 50 new positive Covid-19 cases today (February 1).

The total for the borough is now 7,535 according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

The incidence rate over the last 7 days has increased from 279.1 per 100,000 to 280.4 per 100,000 (the period represented is the 7 days ending January 27).

On January 25, the incidence rate was 383.8 per 100,000 population (the 7 days ending January 20).

There have been 392 new cases in Hertfordshire, the total is now 68,886.

Here's a daily breakdown of the figures in Dacorum for the last seven days:

> January 25 - 47 cases

> January 26 - 35 cases

> January 27 - 48 cases

> January 28 - 98 cases

> January 29 - 70 cases

> January 30 - 67 cases

> January 31 - 45 cases.

According to Public Health England there were 267 confirmed COVID-19 patients in West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust - which manages hospitals in Watford, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans - on Tuesday, January 26, and 19 were on mechanical ventilation beds.

There have been no new deaths recorded in Dacorum, the total is 263, and there have been seven new deaths in Hertfordshire, the total is now 2,041 - according to Public Health England (deaths within 28 days of positive test).

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 18,607 and now stands at 3,835,783. The number of deaths has risen by 406 to 106,564.

As of January 31, in the UK, 9,296,367 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 494,209 had received their second dose.

The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.

The new figures were recorded between 5pm on Saturday, January 30, and 5pm on Sunday, January 31.
