The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is a national charity that deals with all aspects of cystic fibrosis, funding research to treat and cure the condition, it aims to ensure appropriate clinical care and support for people with cystic fibrosis.

Nursery manager Rae Grace said: "The nursery wore yellow in support of a family who are within the nursery community and live with the condition.

“This is a charity very close to the nursery’s heart and we were delighted to show our support by dressing up to make this the brightest day of the year, despite all the rain.

"We wore yellow to show that the condition does not define people with Cystic Fibrosis, their strength, determination and courage does.

"The children and staff created a yellow brick road with lots of yellow activities throughout the week such as yellow construction, yellow playdough, yellow water play, yellow sticking to create a sunshine collage.

"The preschool children looked at the story called Mallory’s 65 roses to support the children in their understanding of Cystic fibrosis and discussed the lungs and how they work.

"We also used the active athletes programme to go outside and be active like people with Cystic Fibrosis have to do."
