Freestyle star Jay Rosa makes surprise appearance at Baldock Christmas Fair
On Saturday, December 6, renowned football freestyler Jay Rosa made a surprise appearance at the Baldock Christmas Fair and Lights Switch‑On, bringing festive cheer, jaw‑dropping skills, and an inspiring message about mental health to the local community, with local photographer Jane Evans capturing the excitement throughout the day.
Rosa wowed crowds with his freestyle routines, performing impressive tricks that had both children and adults cheering. Beyond the entertainment, he engaged directly with young fans, teaching essential football skills while encouraging confidence, creativity, and teamwork.
Rosa also used the event to highlight his ongoing mental health mission. Through his nationwide EFL Stadium Tour and upcoming Football Freestyle Academy in Hertfordshire, he emphasizes the importance of resilience, self-belief, and tackling mental health challenges among young people. His appearances show how football can be a powerful tool for boosting wellbeing and providing a safe space to talk about mental health.
Since launching his EFL Stadium Tour in January 2023, Rosa has visited over 70 stadiums across England, partnering with Mind Charity to raise awareness and funds for mental health initiatives. His work combines entertainment, education, and social impact, blending football skill with messages of support and inclusion.
Fans of all ages left the Baldock Christmas Fair inspired and energised, with many young attendees excited to try the freestyle moves they had learned from Rosa. His surprise visit underscores the growing connection between sport, community engagement, and positive mental health advocacy.
