This Christmas, Family First Nurseries’ support office has united in a remarkable show of generosity, raising £1,379 and collecting a full carload of toys to support families across the group who may otherwise face a difficult festive season.

The team smashed their fundraising goal, raising £1,379, an impressive 37% above their £1,000 target. Thanks to the generosity of their supporters, 38 families will now receive full Christmas dinner packages, and the vulnerable children at their community nurseries will wake up to gifts on Xmas morning.

Toy donations were delivered last week, where faces lit up with joy as children and the team wrapped gifts together for the children on Christmas morning.

Nursery Manager, Community Nursery, said: “We are absolutely blown away by the sheer amount of donations and gifts. Some of our most vulnerable families will now have a fantastic Christmas. Thank you, we are so grateful.”

A fundraiser full of fun and community spirit

Team members from across the support office joined in a day of creativity, competition, and holiday cheer, featuring:

  • The FFBO (Family First Bake Off) — from no-bake rocky road to a towering gingerbread house, complete with miniature gingerbread team members.
  • A charity BBQ cooked by Family First’s award-winning head chef, Sam Handley.
  • Games and tournaments, including a spirited cup-stacking competition.
  • A festive raffle with an array of seasonal treats and prizes.

Emily Burgess, Director of Early Years, said that seeing the festive fundraising come to life was “incredibly special”.

How families and the local community can give back this Xmas

Whether you’re a parent, a supporter, or someone discovering our nurseries for the first time, we’d love for you to be part of this year’s efforts to give back. There are lots of ways to get involved and help make the season brighter for families in need:

  • Support your local nursery’s initiatives, from Bake Offs to community projects.
  • Share our campaign with friends, family, and your wider community to help kindness go even further.

Every act of generosity, no matter how big or small, helps bring warmth, joy, and hope to families this Christmas. Together, we can create a season full of kindness, connection, and community.

At Family First Nurseries, we put families at the heart of everything we do.
