Hertfordshire company puts £3m Michael Jackson clothing up for auction
A company in Hertfordshire is selling a piece of memorabilia belonging to pop icon Michael Jackson.
Internationally-known Hertfordshire sellers, Propstore, is expecting a famous glove worn by the 80s star to be among items that could fetch a combined £3 million.
Interested parties can bid for the disco collectors item across a two-day auction which will be held on October 1-2.
Propstore has arranged over 800 lots for the event and says they include pieces from some of the world’s most celebrated artists.

Bids on the glove will be accepted from across the globe. Propstore is currently expecting the garment to go for between £40,000 - £80,000.
It was worn by Jackson when he was at the height of his powers touring the record-breaking Thriller album. Propstore also revealed he wore the glittery item during his final performances with his brothers before the star rededicated to solo work.
"Created by celebrity designer Bill Whitten, the white cotton right-hand glove is hand-embellished with Swarovski crystals and was designed to shimmer beneath the stage lights, accentuating Jackson’s rapid movements and signature gestures,” Propstore reveals.
"It was gifted backstage to a member of the tour’s marketing and ticketing team following one of three sold-out concerts at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee.”

Propstore confirmed it has a letter of authenticity from the studio which created the glove. Other Michael Jackson clothing is among the 800-plus items going up for sale next month.
Propstore is hosting a free exhibition in London ahead of the auction from September 24 until September 27.

Mark Hochman, Propstore’s music specialist, said: “Michael Jackson’s crystal glove is one of the most recognisable symbols in music history, and this example comes from a pivotal moment in his career. Worn during the Victory Tour at the height of Thriller’s success, it captures Jackson as he became the defining solo artist of his generation. Propstore is thrilled to offer it alongside his one-of-a-kind Sailors varsity jacket and Dangerous World Tour fedora. Together, these remarkable pieces span some of the most important eras of his career and reflect the stage presence and distinctive style that made him a global icon.”
