XR protest outside Barclays and Howden in Hemel Hempstead
On 29th July, as part of the Boycott Bloody Insurance campaign, Dacorum’s local Extinction Rebellion group returned with banners and letters to Howden and to Barclays in Hemel.

The group say they carried out a peaceful protest as they campaigned against climate destruction with a "die-in".
But why target insurers and a high street bank?

Martin Strivens and John Ormiston, both of Hemel Hempstead, said insurers have a responsibility for driving man-made climate change through their insuring of major fossil fuel projects.
The groups says the protest was taken to Howden as it is connected to Zurich and Barclays due to its financing of fossil fuels.
