Work underway on new village homes
National housebuilder Miller Homes has commenced its work on a 19.6-acre parcel of land off London Road in Woolmer Green.

The developer plans to deliver 150 new homes to the village, 53 of which will be provided as affordable housing, increasing the overall housing supply in Woolmer Green by around 10 per cent.
As part of Miller Homes’ plans, which were approved by Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, the housing firm will provide a mix of two, three, and four-bedroom homes for private sale at a development to be known as Orchard View.
The housebuilder has now released the first selection of homes for sale on its website. An on-site sales office has been opened by Miller Homes for visitors, initially from Thursday to Monday each week.
Alastair Parsons, sales director of Miller Homes South Midlands, said: “We are accelerating our plans to deliver 150 new homes in Woolmer Green, with work now underway on the site as we prepare to support local housing supply for the area with our Orchard View development.
“Miller Homes has released the first selection of properties for sale at the development, and we’re now inviting prospective buyers to visit us at our sales office which is located on the site off London Road, open between Thursdays and Mondays from 10.30am.
“Our responsibility now as a housebuilder is to work efficiently and sympathetically to our neighbours in Woolmer Green as we look to help the area grow and thrive as new homes are delivered in the village.
“We look forward to sharing our plans for a showhome at Orchard View later this year, by which time we will be able to show visitors to the development how construction work is progressing on site, as the first homes take shape in readiness for occupation.”
As part of the approved planning application for the development, Miller Homes will deliver significant green space within the scheme, including a community orchard, to the benefit of new residents in the village.
A showhome is planned to be opened by the developer later this year. The first homes are set to be completed and ready for occupation by the end of 2026.
The affordable housing on the development will comprise a mix of one-bedroom apartments and two and three-bedroom houses.
