We Do Mobility has opened a new showroom in Hemel Hempstead to Support Independent Living

Independent mobility retailer We Do Mobility has opened its new showroom at The Marlowes shopping centre, bringing a wide range of mobility and independent living products and services to residents across Hemel Hempstead and the surrounding areas.

The store opened on Monday 8th June 2026 and is the company's third location, following its existing showrooms in Beaconsfield and Uxbridge. The expansion comes off the back of growing demand for accessible, local mobility services across Hertfordshire.

The showroom carries a broad range of products to help people stay independent and confident in their daily lives, including mobility scooters, powerchairs, manual wheelchairs, rise and recline chairs, walking aids, daily living aids, bathing equipment, pressure care products and specialist seating.

What makes the store stand out is its hands-on, people-first approach. Rather than simply selling products off the shelf, the team takes time to understand each customer's individual situation and find the right solution for them. Customers are welcome to try equipment before they buy, and there's a dedicated testing area in the showroom for exactly that purpose. Ongoing aftercare, servicing, repairs and maintenance support are all part of the offer too.

The arrival of We Do Mobility is another sign of The Marlowes' ongoing effort to keep its retail and service mix in step with what local people actually need. Having that kind of specialist expertise right in the centre of Hemel Hempstead means residents no longer have to travel far to get the help and advice they're looking for.

Vicki Workman, Business Manager at The Marlowes, said: "We're really pleased to welcome We Do Mobility to The Marlowes. They bring something genuinely useful — not just for our regular shoppers, but for the wider community too. This isn't your typical new store opening; it's a business built around people, offering real advice and practical support that can make a meaningful difference to someone's day-to-day life. We think our customers are going to love having them here, and we're glad to have a tenant that cares as much about this community as we do."

The opening is part of a busy spell for The Marlowes shopping centre, with We Do Mobility becoming the second new business to open this month, following Esquires Coffee earlier in June. Between them, the two arrivals reflect the centre's push towards a broader, more varied mix of shops, services and places to eat and drink.

Sam Cameron, Founder of We Do Mobility, said: "We're incredibly excited to be bringing We Do Mobility to Hemel Hempstead. Our whole focus is on helping people stay independent, active and confident, and we've felt for a while that there's a real gap for a dedicated mobility showroom in this area. The Marlowes felt like the right fit - it's accessible, well-connected and genuinely at the heart of the community. We want everyone who comes through our doors to feel welcomed and listened to, and to leave knowing they've found the right solution for them."

The decision to open at The Marlowes was driven by the centre's central location, strong transport links and easy accessibility. The 1,070 sq ft showroom has been laid out to give plenty of space for product displays, hands-on testing and one-to-one consultations.

The store is set up to help a wide range of people - older adults, those living with disabilities, people recovering from illness or surgery, carers and healthcare professionals looking for trusted equipment for their clients and patients.

Alongside its retail offer, We Do Mobility provides home assessments, product demonstrations, short-term hire, delivery and installation. The team also works alongside occupational therapists, physiotherapists, care homes and local authorities to make sure customers get the most appropriate support.

The business has already created local jobs and expects to recruit further as it grows, with all team members receiving ongoing specialist training in mobility products and customer care.

We Do Mobility is also committed to reducing waste through its servicing, refurbishment and repair programmes, which help extend the life of mobility equipment. Trade-in and part-exchange options are available on selected products.

The company currently supports Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity and BLESMA, and is looking to build further partnerships with organisations and charities across Hertfordshire.

The showroom is now open:

Monday to Saturday: 9:00am – 5:30pm

Sunday: 11:00am – 5:00pm
