The Marlowes urges Hemel community to support newly opened ReLoved Donation Hub
Following the successful launch of the ‘Where Pre-Loved Gets Re-Loved’ campaign on May 12th, The Marlowes Shopping Centre is calling on local residents to keep the momentum going by donating high-quality unwanted items to support local families and vital charities.

The centre has officially transformed a vacant retail unit into a vibrant community donation hub. This initiative serves as the opening phase of The Marlowes Summer Festival, aimed at promoting a circular economy while providing direct relief to household budgets during challenging financial times.
The success of this charity drive relies entirely on the generosity of the Hemel Hempstead community. By donating clothing, toys, books, working small appliances, and small homeware, residents are giving these items a second lease of life and directly contributing to the upcoming summer retail event.

Phase Two of the festival will see these treasures displayed in a special retail event where the public can ‘fill a bag for £5’. This not only ensures local families can access essential goods at a bargain price but also ensures that every penny raised is donated to two incredible causes: Alzheimer’s Society and Animal Support Angels.
Humphrey Mwanza, Centre Manager at The Marlowes, emphasized that the campaign allows the centre to support the heart of the Hemel community. The initiative has already garnered an enthusiastic response from over 40 local primary and secondary schools, emergency services, and youth organisations such as the Scouts and Girlguiding.
The Marlowes encourages everyone to declutter for a cause. The dedicated donation hub is now open for drop-offs every Tuesday and Thursday between 12pm and 4pm.
Shoppers are invited to look for campaign posters throughout the centre for the latest information on accepted items and to see how their "pre-loved" treasures can be "re-loved" by a new home.
