RSPB Hemel Hempstead Local Group – ‘The World of Fungi'
Our next meeting, the first of the '26/'27 season, is on Tuesday, September 8 and will be held in the Parish Room of St Paul's Church, Chipperfield WD4 9BQ.

We are delighted to welcome back John Tyler, who has worked in nature conservation for over 25 years, with a talk entitled 'The World of Fungi'.
As well as being colourful, beautiful and some edible, fungi are the ultimate recyclers and without them most of the world's habitats would soon collapse. His talk will explore the diversity of the fungal kingdom, look at their often bizarre lives and describe some which can be found locally.

Doors will open at 7.15pm, the meeting will start at 7.45pm and finish at around 9.45pm.
Our next outing is a car share trip on Thursday, September 10 to Farmoor Reservoir and RSPB Otmoor, both near Oxford. Farmoor Reservoir is a large man-made water storage site and is a premier spot for wildfowl, gulls, and rare migratory birds. Whereas, RSPB Otmoor provides a large grazing marsh habitat and visitor trail, home to wading birds and wildfowl all year round.
Details can be found on our website.
Anyone is welcome to attend the monthly meetings and outings, whether experienced or a novice to birding, RSPB members or not.
