Mamba Boxing Club Secures 2 Golds
The Manchester Box Cup is widely regarded as one of the toughest competitions on the amateur calendar, making this a fantastic achievement and a proud moment for the club.
Two talented boxers from Mamba Boxing Club in Hemel Hempstead have won gold at the Manchester Box Cup, one of the UK’s most competitive amateur boxing tournaments.
Representing Mamba Boxing Gym, Adam Hussain (16, 60kg) and Aryan Nithiyanthan (18, 80kg) both delivered outstanding performances across the event, overcoming strong opposition from across the country. Each boxer showed skill, composure and determination to progress through the rounds and secure victory in their respective finals.
The success didn’t stop there, with Mamba Boxing Club also securing an additional three silver and two bronze medals. Francis Reid (17, 75kg) also produced a standout performance, defeating the Latvian champion in the semi-finals — a boxer with significantly more experience — before narrowly missing out on gold in the final.

The team is coached by Kingsley Walker, David Davidson, Rudi Davidson and Joseph Icarangal, who have been working closely together to develop a strong group of boxers coming through the ranks.
Joseph Icarangal said: “Adam and Aryan have both worked incredibly hard in the gym, along with the rest of the team, and this is a great reward for their commitment. To win at a tournament like this shows real quality and potential.”
