Local people invited to join The Big September Stroll and help change the lives of local children with disabilities

Local charity, Playskill, is inviting residents, families, friends and even their four-legged companions to lace up their walking boots and take part in its brand-new fundraising event, The Big September Stroll, taking place on Saturday 12 September 2026 at Leavesden Country Park, Abbots Langley.

The scenic 10-mile circular countryside walk will raise vital funds to support children with physical disabilities and their families, in Hemel Hempstead, and across Hertfordshire.

Every step taken and every pound raised will help fund specialist support for pre-school children with physical disabilities. Through free specialist play‑based therapy sessions, support at home, training and family events, Playskill develops vital movement, communication and life skills in children, while building resilience and confidence within families.

Niki Michael, Playskill's CEO, said: "This walk brings people together in nature, enjoying the beauty of our local area, while making a lasting impact on the lives of local children and their families. We'd love to see as many people as possible come along and take part, bringing communities together while raising awareness and funds for families who rely on Playskill's specialist services."
