Kings Langley School continues to lead on character education
Kings Langley Secondary School were awarded the Character Kitemark+ for the third time in succession – the first secondary school to achieve this. Ther kitemark plus status requires schools to demonstrate an explicit, planned and reflective approach to character education of its students, staff, parents and governors. The leadership team must be able to demonstrate how they teach the theory of character explicitly; support their students develop core values such as empathy, self-regulation and resilience; and encourage students to make good choices even when they are not being watched.

In December 2025, Kings Langley School had their third assessment for this kitemark plus where the assessor commented upon their “continued commitment to character education” and their “ongoing transformative and innovative practice in the field.” The work of character was said to be “engrained in the school’s ethos” and suggested that leaders “made intelligent decisions to ensure it effectively permeated all aspects of school life”.
Mr David Fisher, Headteacher said “I am delighted at the outcome and am so proud to be a character kitemark+ school. Our ambition is to inspire students to flourish and become well-rounded, active citizens that go onto make a difference in the world.”
