Hitchin charity pool night raises £164 for Hertfordshire Mind
A charity pool night at Hitchin Pool Hall has raised £164 for Hertfordshire Mind, bringing together local players for an evening of relaxed matches and community support.

Organised by Katie Wilson, the event welcomed players of all abilities, with the focus kept firmly on creating a calm, friendly atmosphere. Every frame played contributed to the final fundraising total, helping support mental health services across Hertfordshire.
The night was made possible thanks to Daniel and the team at Hitchin Pool Hall, who generously provided free use of the tables throughout the event. Their support ensured that all proceeds could go directly to Hertfordshire Mind.

A raffle was held as part of the evening, featuring prizes donated by a range of local organisations. These included LEAF massage and therapy vouchers, a Finding the Joy 1‑1 session, a £50 Hamilton Billiards voucher, a Stevenage Boxing Club one‑month pass, Shepreth Wildlife Park tickets, a Discover London experience with river cruise, a £15 Pots of Art voucher, a Tring Brewery tour for two, Go‑Kart Laser vouchers, two scuba diving lessons, and items from Hitchin Town FC and Stevenage FC.
Several women progressed to the final stages of the competition, with one taking part on the night itself — something many attendees said they were pleased to see, adding to the inclusive and welcoming feel of the event.
Some attendees commented on how relaxed the atmosphere felt, with a number saying they appreciated having a low‑pressure space to enjoy a night out while supporting a meaningful cause.
Following the positive response, Katie is planning to hold another charity pool night in early October, again in support of mental health services in the local area.
