The event takes place at Bridgewater Primary School (HP4 1ES) from 7pm to 9.30pm. Seats are free but limited, and advance booking is essential.

The People's Emergency Briefing is a film that brings nine leading UK scientists and experts together to present the latest evidence on the climate and nature crises, and what they mean for the lives of everyday people. Topics covered include extreme weather, food security, health and the cost of living.

The film is based on the National Emergency Briefing held in Westminster, which was covered by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times, and features appearances from naturalist and broadcaster Chris Packham, entrepreneur and investor Deborah Meaden, and a range of voices from across the UK.

Following the screening, there will be an open discussion about what the issues raised mean for the Berkhamsted community and what local action is possible. Victoria Collins MP and local councillors have been invited to attend.

EcoBerko spokesperson John Bell said: “When you get to grips with the scale of the problems we face, it can feel daunting and scary. What you do as an individual can feel wholly inadequate and lobbying governments can seem futile – that's where EcoBerko comes in, bridging the gap at the community level, which might just be enough, just in time. This is hope, with its sleeves rolled up.”

Parents For Future Herts & Bucks spokesperson Katrina said: “It's terrifying bringing up children in a world where the climate and nature crises are becoming more and more obvious. It's already hard to keep the house cool enough for them to sleep and for an average family to afford energy bills and food, so what is life going to be like for them in the future? We'd all do anything for our kids and so we really need to pull together and take action on this.” said Katrina

The event is free to attend. Donations on the day are welcome to help cover costs. To book a place, visit: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/parentsforfuturehertsandbucks/2193590
