Chilterns Discovery Day

The Alford Arms in Frithsden is taking part in Chilterns Discovery Day, the first-ever two-day celebration of the Chilterns National Landscape. To celebrate, the pub is offering you a cuppa before you head off on the self-guided circular walk straight from the door: through the Ashridge Estate woodland, along part of an old Roman road, through the water meadows beside the River Gade, and back to the pub in time for lunch or a drink. It's family and dog-friendly, in keeping with the Alford's usual welcome for children, dogs and muddy boots.

The wider Chilterns Discovery Day brings together 30 experiences across 11 founding partners over the weekend, from stargazing and trail walks to food, drink and family attractions, under the theme "See the Chilterns Differently." Full details and booking are at chilternstreasures.com.
