The event, taking place on Saturday 11 July, will bring together experienced care professionals and a specialist from the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) to offer practical guidance on planning for care in later life, understanding dementia and exploring care options.

Choosing when to seek additional support for an ageing relative can be one of the most difficult decisions a family faces. Whether prompted by a dementia diagnosis, changing health needs or simply planning ahead, many people are unsure where to begin or what support is available.

The Care Information event aims to give families the confidence to ask questions, access trusted information and better understand the choices available to them before they reach crisis point.

Throughout the afternoon, visitors can attend an informative talk on dementia care, learn about planning for future care needs, discover the differences between residential and dementia care, meet members of the care team and take a tour of the home. Complimentary refreshments will also be available.

Diane Brynt, Home Manager at Farnham Common House, said: "One of the things we hear most often from families is, 'I wish we'd started looking into care sooner.' It's completely understandable. Knowing where to begin can feel overwhelming, and many people don't realise what support is available until they're facing a crisis.

"We wanted to create an opportunity where people can come in, ask questions and have honest conversations in a welcoming environment. Whether someone is looking for support now, planning ahead or simply wants to understand more about dementia, we're here to help them make informed decisions with confidence."

The event is open to anyone who would like to find out more about later-life care, whether for themselves, a family member or a friend. Visitors are welcome to drop in, meet the team and explore the home while gaining practical advice tailored to their individual circumstances.

The Care Information Day will take place on Saturday 11 July, from 2pm to 5pm, at Farnham Common House, Beaconsfield Road, Farnham Common, SL2 3HU.
