Ashtons estate agents lend a helping hand at Emmaus Hertfordshire during Volunteers' Week 2026
Emmaus Hertfordshire has thanked a team of 14 volunteers from Ashtons estate agents for generously giving their time and energy to support the homelessness charity during Volunteers' Week 2026 (June 1-8).

The group from the Hertfordshire estate agents spent the day helping across the community and charity shop in Hill End, St Albans on Thursday, carrying out a wide range of practical tasks. These included sorting donated items, tidying shop and community areas, gardening and creating upcycled pieces in the workshop.
Their efforts made a significant difference, helping Emmaus Hertfordshire improve its facilities and maximise the value of donations that help fund its work supporting people who have experienced homelessness.

Gemma Beckett, Business Development Manager at Emmaus Hertfordshire, said: "We are incredibly grateful to the volunteers from Ashtons who gave their time to support us during Volunteers' Week. Their enthusiasm, hard work and willingness to get involved in a variety of tasks made a real difference across our St Albans shop and community.
“From sorting donations and improving displays, to helping in the garden and workshop, they were a fantastic support and achieved so much in just one day. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone involved. Corporate volunteering days like this are invaluable to Emmaus Hertfordshire, as are our established volunteers who spend time with us every week.
“We are appealing for more volunteers for a range of different roles and would love to hear from anyone with a little time on their hands who would like to make a big difference to the lives of people getting back on their feet after homelessness.”
Alex Francos, Marketing Manager at Ashtons said: “The Ashtons team were delighted to spend time with Emmaus Hertfordshire during Volunteers’ Week and support the incredible work they do.

“Our colleagues really enjoyed getting stuck in, from organising donations on the shop floor, to working in the garden and learning more about upcycling in the workshop. It was also incredibly powerful to hear first-hand from Companions about their journeys, giving us a deeper understanding of the difference Emmaus makes to people’s lives.
“Supporting our local community is at the heart of what we do, and we are grateful to the Emmaus team for welcoming us and for the vital support they provide to people rebuilding their lives.”
Emmaus Hertfordshire currently has a number of volunteering opportunities available, including roles in its charity shops, retail operations, gardening projects, administration, fundraising, events and community support activities.
Anyone interested in volunteering for the charity, whether on a regular basis or through corporate volunteering opportunities, is encouraged to get in touch to find out more about the available roles and how they can support the charity.
