Organisers have celebrated the success of the maiden Berko Fields festival at the town’s cricket club.
Thousands attended the dance festival which ran from Friday to Sunday. On Friday promoters put together a House Takeover line-up, DJ SKT warmed up the crowd before Fish56Octagon took to the Berko Fields decks.
During a two-hour house set 400 drones rose behind the main stage for a 12-minute aerial display. The drones formed an acid smiley face, a peace sign, and many more formations during Friday’s show.
Saturday brought BBC Radio 1's Danny Howard to the stage. As night fell, Symphonica Orchestra's Ibiza Classics took over, the ensemble reinterpreted dancefloor classics. Drones were once again deployed across the cricket pitches to add to the atmosphere.
Sunday was the biggest day of the weekend by numbers, organisers say this was due to a high number of families attending. So Solid Crew and Artful Dodger headlined a day that put UK garage classics front and centre. Organisers also brought a fairground to Dacorum to keep families engaged.
It has also been revealed that the festival used local vendors to provide food and refreshments throughout the project. The Berko Fields team says that among the thousands who attended were first-timers who'd taken a chance on a new name, but also seasoned festival regulars with high expectations.
