Young ace Joel Pierleoni, who trains with the Berkhamsted Elite Tennis Academy at Berkhamsted Tennis club, will be travelling to Miami in December to take part in the U12 Orange Bowl Championships.

The Orange Bowl is viewed as the World Championships of junior tennis and many former winners have gone on to win senior grand slam events, including Roger Federer and Andy Murray.

Joel, 12, has already represented Great Britain twice and his attendance at the Orange Bowl shows the continued development of his potential.

Meanwhile, Berkhamsted Tennis Club is holding an open day on Sunday between 11am and 3pm, at Broadwater, off Lower Kings Road.

Some of their young aspiring tennis stars will be playing on the day and anyone is welcome to pop down and watch. Activities on the day will include free tennis coaching for all ages, Cardio Tennis, a barbecue, a bouncy castle and much more.
