Organised by Tring-based Oakman Inns as a way of bringing together all the local teams that they sponsor, the Cup featured nine clubs from across the South East.

It was a very successful day for all of the TringRugby teams that competed, with the U7s emerging victorious in their age group, the U8s coming in as runners-up, the U9s missing their final by a single try, and the U10s narrowly losing their final to also finish as runners-up.

U10s head coach Andrew Yule said: “The first, of what we hope will be many, Oakman Cups was a fantastic day for all of our teams.

“The opportunity to play on the pitch at Allianz Park is one the children will not forget in a hurry.

“Oakman Inns went above and beyond to take all of the usual festival stresses away from the clubs.

“Not having to worry about shelter, food and refereeing meant that the coaches were able to enjoy the day as much as the players did.

“It was also great to challenge ourselves against teams that don’t normally feature in our fixture lists.”
