Silver medal for fantastic Fryer at English U21 Open

Rush Judo's Michael Fryer had a fantastic result as he won silver in the English U21 Judo Open which was held in Norfolk on Sunday.

The competition started well with Michael using an arm lock to beat a former national champion.

He continued to progress through the rounds and coach Laurie Rush was delighted when he reached the final, narrowly missing out on winning the gold medal.

Michael took up Judo at the age of 12 after seven years training in gymnastics. He rapidly progressed through the coloured belts, earning the prestigious accolade of a black belt in December.
