The greens of Redbourn Golf Club turned a shade of pink in a worthy cause.

Players have been able to hire a bright pink electric buggy for their rounds, with all proceeds being donated to Breast Cancer Care.

The pink car arrived in time for a full schedule of Ladies’ events at the club, including a Macmillan charity cup tournament, interclub Ladies match against Aldwickbury, and a designated Ladies day.

Redbourn Golf Club general manager Ian McDowell said: “All the members were excited to have the pink buggy at Redbourn, especially during such a busy week for Ladies golf.

“The colour drew quite a lot of attention, and was a popular sight on the course as it was a fun way to fundraise and raise awareness of the brilliant work that this charity does.”

Burhill Golf and Leisure Ltd (BGL), operator of Redbourn Golf Club, was one of the first organisations to adopt the initiative and saw great success during the week, raising a significant sum towards supporting those affected by breast cancer.
