Personal bests aplenty for middle distance dynamos
Starting with the U20 men, Rhys Rowlands finished just outside the medals in a strong fourth in the 1,500m in a time of 4.35.51.
Next up were the U17 men, where Joshua van Heiningen was just edged out of third spot in the 1,500m with a PB performance of 4.22.50 (his previous best was 4.23.0).

Hide AdJamie Ayres finished in sixth, in a massive PB of 4.36.47. Dunphy noted that his previous best was a distant 4.52.4, and his 800m split of 2.21.1 was also a PB.
Kristian Imroth came home with the county title, storming the U15 boys’ 1,500m with a PB of 4.29.64. Freddie Truman-Williams, in his first year in the U15 age group, was ninth in the same race, in a strong PB of 5.02.97.
Grace Birdseye posted a strong new PB of 5.16.03 to finish third in the U17 women’s 1,500m – a great start to her season.
In the U15 girls’ 1,500m, Lily Boden smashed her previous best of 6.17.1 to finish eighth in a speedy 5.29.76, while Amy Cassidy was 11th in 5.37.83.
The U13 girls’ competed in very windy conditions, with Jess Benveniste running a PB of 2.46.28 for the 800m to finish seventh, with Olivia Moore bagging ninth in 2.54.70, close to her PB of 2.52.1.
